Viewpoint: Itaipú hydroelectric power station and dam

The Itaipú hydroelectric power plant and associated dam is one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world and is located on the Paraná River on the border between Paraguay and Brazil. The power station was built in the 1970s and is a remarkable engineering achievement. It produces an enormous amount of electricity and supplies energy to both Paraguay and Brazil.
The entrance fee to the Itaipú hydroelectric power station and dam is approximately: 56R$ (bus tour) | 160R$ (bus tour including guided tour and visit to the inside of the power plant)
